Eastvale 0 Rosyth 1 (League)

P1210052P1210049P1210046

The first game of the new year was a tough test against Rosyth at Windygates.

With temperatures dropping, wind howling and the raining persisting down, it made for a hard battle for Vale against conditions and a very determined Rosyth team.

Vale started with a few changes from recent games with Brett playing beside Tucker at centre half and Ryan moving to left back with Mikey Laing at right back.

Rosyth had some early chances with Vales defence holding firm, once Vale got settled they made Rosyth fight for this win, in a evenly fought contest it was a hard to tell who was going to come out on top.

Half Time 0-0

The game continued in the same vain with chances falling to both teams. With 15 mins to go Rosyth broke and some nice football found the big No. 5 thro on goal with Gardner to beat and he cooly slotted it home. Vale made changes with Wardy and Willie Kerr coming on for Callum and Beau.

A final change with Stuart McLeish on for Mikey Laing, Vale set their stall out and went for the equaliser, some brave defending from Rosyth and a hotly desputed penalty claim which was waved away by the ref, but in the end Rosyth came out on top.

A very evenly matched affair, and one in which Vale should be chuffed as the training over the festive period seems to have paid off, they fought to the end but on this day, their luck just failed them.
