As Arthur Montford used to say “ oh dear oh dear oh dear”.
On a very windy afternoon at King George V park, Eastvale struggled from the kick off against a very good Leven Team.
Vale started the first half with the wind at their backs but never managed to capatilise on the conditions.
Leven started well and continued in this vain throughout the game, trailing 3-0 Vale made wholesale changes at half time and managed to keep Leven out in the second half.
Vale did create a few chances but the Leven Keeper was up to the task.
A disappointing afternoon for Eastvale who will no doubt bounce back on saturday .

On a midgie infested evening in Burntisland, the shipyard started stronger with Eastvale finally finding their feet and making most of the play.
Wardy found himself unmarked in the box but a fine save from the keeper denied Vale the lead which they deserved.
Brett Haley broke the offside trap to bear down on the Shipyard goal but his shot was stopped by the feet of the on rushing keeper.
Vale finished the half the stronger team.
The second half started where the first left off, with Vale dominating proceedings.
Their pressure paid off when callum found himself free on the right and steamed goalward, his first shot was blocked by the keeper and with the rebound he sent a defence splitting pass to find wardy at the back post 1-0 vale.
The game was finally wrapped up when Vale were awarded a free kick on the edge of the Shipyard box.
Stuart McLeish stepped up and slotted home, 2-0 Vale.
A fine win and most importantly, 3 points.

A bright start by eastvale resulting in a penalty midway through the first half. This was well converted by Mike Laing.
Eastvale had most of the pressure in the first half and would feel hard done by not doubling their advantage.
Strathmiglo came out the second half more determined and pushed Vale all the second half.
The Vale defence held firm until…………………
with 10 minutes remaining, a free kick on the right was whipped in for the big centre half to head home at the far post. Over the piece a draw was a fair result.
In this case the old cliche can be used, a game of two halves.

Eastvale traveled the couple of miles down the road to play local rivals Leven United on a fine Tuesday night. With a depleted squad Eastvale faced an on-form Leven team and it was Leven who applied the early pressure. Leven continued this pressure throughout the first half and were rewarded for their efforts around the Half hour mark when a simple long ball deceived both defense and goalkeeper allowing the striker in to slot the ball into the corner. Their second was to follow soon after when a defensive mistake allowed the Leven man one on one with the keeper who hit the ball under the advancing keeper. 2-0 Half time.
Eastvale picked their game up at the start of the second half and after a fine passing move got a finely finished goal back. Eastvale continued to look for the equalizer but were hit on the break for Leven’s third. The Vale didn’t let their heads drop and continued to press the game and got a second after a miss hit free kick found itself at Kerr’s feet a couple of yards out for him to easily finish. Never letting up Eastvale continued the pressure looking to get something out the game but instead Leven broke away from an Eastvale attack and finished the game off with their fourth of the game.
Leven Utd 4-2 Eastvale

First Game of the season and it could’nt get off to a better start. A comfortable win against a determined Bowhill. Both goals came in the first half from Wardy and Jordon.
Better Match reports will be provided in future.
