Fair City 1-2 Eastvale (E. Douglas, Zico)
Eastvale traveled to perth on tuesday night to face tough opponents Fair City who have come far since their rather disappointing last few seasons. A well organized fit City team started the game well pressing the vale team back on their heels for a while. with all the great pressure and creative play came the sucker punch for City as vale pushed forward with some neat play releasing Eck Douglas to fire the first for Vale within 20 min's. Vale then took control of the game playing some excellent football and City had their keeper to thank after he made a number of important saves before the half.
The second half started alot like the first with City pressing early on however Vale's Defense mopped up the pressure and were able to create some clever football up to the strikers. It was this clever football and excellent crossing that zico found himself with enough time to chest a cross bring it done and fire it in the bottom corner to put Vale two ahead. Eastvale continue to play creative football with Murphy causing problems with his pace. With about half an hour to go Vales keeper Gardner had to come off with an injury and was replaced by Cas. His first game this season and looked like he never took a break organizing the defence and pressing City's back 4 with his kicking. with 15 min's to go City got a free kick 20 yards out. an excellent strike found its way to the bottom corner to make it 2-1. The last 15mins eastvale again soaking up some good pressure by City who were unable to extend their lead and eastvale returned home with the crucial three points.
